Snorkeling tour With our good neigbours

On Thursday we went on a snorkeling trip, That our neigbours from canada invited us to join. we went out about 10.00am, but here in mexico everything goes a little slow.. so let,s say 10.30! When we got on board on the little boat we drove for maybe 200 meter,s before the engine stopped! The guide tried to work on it for maybe 30 min before he gave up..

Here he is working on the engine, but didn''t wanna stick the camera in he's face..
Waiting... -and laughing??
On our way again in a new boat..

An other boat had to come an rescue us! The first stop was an old ship wreck, and it was shallow water so Viktor could join us too. It was a beautyful snorkeling spot, with a lot of different fish with all the nice coulor,s...

Then we went to an other spot witch was a little bit deeper so Viktor had to stay on the boat with daddy. Here i saw baracuda, and klownfish, nemofish etc.. We also had cold beer with us, that we could enjoy in the sun;)

Linselusa

Next stop was Thomas,s turn to go in the water.
Viktor was sleeping at this point so i was talking to the captai,n of the boat while waiting for the others to finish.

Nice to practice some spanish as well.. I,m not very good yet!
Then we had a last stop before we went home..

This was a really nice day at sea, the water was still and the sun was nice and warm. 3 and an half hour went by to quickly!
All in all, this was a nice day.. And i didn,t get seasick!!!! (Like i usually does...)

The price for this day was 1000 pesos for us three. (That is about 450 kroner)
The rest of the day we spend at the beach.

KRISE / CHRISIS

Mr Skrik (skream) is reprecenting me and my feelings this time..:

I need help! check this out. IT IS ALMOAST EMPTY!!!
I had two of these with me, but now they are almost empty. That is bad news to a chocoholic.. And even though the members of the family, (animals, and or whatever we are) know that this is very important substance to daddy, some mice (Mus) has been eating from it!?!?  What right does it have??
So; mamma send mer sjokolade!

They sadly don't know what chocolate is down here.. They have one substitute though.. Snikkers. That's it..
The "food issue" down here while we've been here has gone pretty good for the majority of us. That is we had some challenges with Mr V in the beginning, especially when we are eating out. He isn't getting what he is used to so, he looks at the new things we try to offer him and often he don’t want to taste at all. If we have ordered some food that includes French fries (without us knowing) on the side, he eats the French fries like he's never seen food before and stops eating when there is no more left of them. Sometimes I feel a bit of frustration over this, don’t like him to just eat those unhealthy things. But luckily he is very in to the great fruit they have to offer here. And that is really good too, we all just love it! We have all sorts of exotic fruit back at home too, but it just isn't the same. While we are "talking" about fruit, just down our street, about 100 meters, there are this small tienda that sells the best orange juice I’ve ever had! The ones I've tried down here before might have been equally good but a taste is hard to remember after few years. Anyway, we have one in Norway that is supposed to be pressed and delivered with no added water or so that is called Tropicana. That one i quite good, but can't compete with this one at all. It is just fantastic!! Delicioso! We all love it.

This is it! 1 liter costs 13-14 Nkr.. quite cheap too!
There are some things that we miss regarding food down here. Some basics like bread and milk. The bread the sell here is just light bread, or that brand BIMBO. All of their bread even if they are a bit dark still feels like really soft and light bread. Really bad stuff!! So last week we took the boat over to the main land, Cancun to by some good bread. And we got it too! So now we have a little storage in our freezer for needy times. I actually baked a banana bread here one day too, that became quite good. And we have found a cafe that sell banana bread too, and that one is really good! So I often find myself walking by there..!? Wonder why..?
And the milk issue.. The milk you can buy here isn't standing in cooling rooms, and they last several months ahead.. That's just wrong to a fresh milk lover like me.. But thanks to the great orange juice, I have a good substitute. Mr V seems to like this milk so we get by.
-To be continued..

Date: 04.12.2011 Update:

Status:

I can't get myself to eat it.. The anxiety of not having any left is greater than the urge to eat it…           I definitely got problems.

And another "funny" thing.. I just received an e-mail from my father in Thailand who had read about my problem. Look what that "funny" fellow sent me, a picture from he's own fridge.
To be continued...

Corona worker

Today Viktor got two job assignments. He's really getting busy here. First job was a modeling assignment at the beach. Then he was an assistant on a Corona delivery car.                                        We were thinking about making a lot of money of Viktor, charm and blond hair! Everybody loves him here, and they are always talking to him when we are walking in town, at the beach, in the store etc.. A lot of high-five`s! And some people also lift him up. He`s not so crazy about that..               Viktor is working for Corona now as mentioned, but his parents usually drink sol! But maybe we have to switch brand now. Viktor probably have some "work benefits". And he might just be raising us just enough money so we can hang out in some hammocks for a while longer.
When he's not working he likes to enjoy the beach for short while then he just want to walk around. -he walks and walks and walks.. So we all are getting our exercises here, so that`s good I guess.
Today we have one more week here in our apartment, and then we have to move out for 5 days. It was already rented out these days when we booked it. We had an offer about another apartment in this house, but we will take these days to go somewhere else. We don`t know really where to go yet, but we have been thinking of going down the coast towards Playa Del Carmen and Tulum. We also were recommended to go and visit a small city called Valladolid ( http://yucatantoday.com/en/topics/valladolid )near Chichen Itza (http://yucatantoday.com/en/topics/chichen-itza )  . Suppose to be a pretty and colorful colonial town. We`ll see where we`ll set course. Any recommendations out there maybe??

La isla bonita

Pictures from Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres means the island of women. This statue is the first one among many at the south east end of the island. I would have to guess that she is a symbol of the mother of all women at the isla.

This one is also at that area as "the mother", representing all the lizards here.
It' has become a bit damaged of all the conditions it stands.

Art on the wall around a school... this one was funny.

Walls of Hotel Palmas

Poc Na (house of fire), largest backpackers hostel in Central America.
It dosen't look all that, but the atmosphere in there is great at night. Live music every eve!

The fantastic bar and view at Playa Norte

The harbour area of the Isla.

Fishing boat just outside the beach. (Is this normally rigged?)

This cafeteria has great banana bread! but it's a bit expencive.. hole loaf is about 70Nkr or 13$

A mexican resturant a block away from our house..

If you'll ever need a clown at the Isla..

House decoration

Our street..

Our house.

The house just across the street from us, got a nice small cafeteria downstairs.

(More pictures will come very soon..)

Just outside our "hotel" in Tulum

Floating bottle island

We were out with a golf car and stumbled over this strange thing.

Floating bottle island But now it has become a victim of bad storms.. looks a bit different now than in that interview. Noe å teste når jeg kommer hjem til Glengshølen igjen.. hehe.. -å leie ut kanskje!?
(I took a short film from here but took to many ages to upload it..)

At a walk at the east side.. Mr V shows off..

On board and there..

Finally the day came and we went to the airport to spend the night. After a month at my grandma's cabin, it was good with a comftable bed.. ohh my..

Anyway.. We got up early and ready to go.

Here we are waiting for a shuttle outside out hotel near the airport in Oslo

                                                           Mr V is really tierd..

We had to check in on those machines ourselves at the airport. Not always easy, they tend to be a bit grumpy early on. The respond we got from that machine was that we were one day early.. Ok..!? so what's this then..? Tried a few times before we took contact with someone at the service office. After a while he asked me if my name was Trine Holmen.. So that friendly machine had given me a sex change (it probably didn't know that I took this journey to get my blood pressure down, not the opposite way). After a few "bumps in the road", we took off, literally! At 06.30 am sharp.

First stop was Paris. We had to transfer there, and wait 4 and a half hour, and they took our stroller at the check-in point. They didn't have any to lend out while inside ether. Funny stuff when Mr V gets tired and unpatient. He doesn’t easily fall asleep in any arms anymore. He just wanted to run around all the time or he got crazy. Thanks to Charles De Gaulle for that workout!

The flight from Paris to Cancun was prrreeeetty loooong, but without any problems. Mr V held it going until he fell asleep after a few hours. Then we got to consume a few movies.

When we were waiting for the ferry over to Isla Mujeres.. Viktor was sooooooo tierd, poor thing.. didn't know where to go or do..could not sleep ether..
We got to The Isla around 22(10pm) local time, that's now 05(am) to us Scandinavians. We got there late and were very exhausted (but Mr V didn't mind.. He woke up 03.30am).

                                                              Our hotel the first night

The first hours in this morning where just great (that is, after the sun came up)! It was worm and sunny. We had an early breakfast at a café (07.00am). Gry and me both got the good wibes from when we were here before. The charming small streets and colorful houses, with the smells from fresh coffee in the air (dont drink it but love the smell of it..). You always end up talking to someone here or there, and everyone is open and friendly of couse. Mexican style omelet with freshly pressed orange juice, is a great way to start the first day at the Isa.

Here is Mr V checking out the streets before the Isla wakes up..

We took a short walk to get orientated again. Had to go down to Playa Northe. Mr V dropped he's shoes and stuck he's feet in the water. Didn't have any bathing clothes on, but still played in the shore.. and we all of course know how that goes. wet wet wet (Also name of a British singing group!) but who cares.. He enjoyed it so why not?

Moved our things to the apartment around noon. Nice and new apartment with two bedrooms and four beds..!!..! So if anyone feels like visiting..

Got a nice balcony over a bit busy street. Lot's to see and watch. Café’s and tiendas all around. This seems just right. Chao.

Can it possible get any better for a 2 year old kid then this??
Viktor got a friend.. Louis.

(Be warned! There might be some changes here and there on the blogg as I figure out how movie maker works and this blogg it self.. )
